Abstract Purpose of Review Heavy and toxic metals are becoming more prevalent in the water sources globe, which has detrimental repercussions for both human health ecosystems. The summary recent findings on treatment possibilities metal species by nanomaterials should facilitate development advanced techniques their removal. Recent Findings high concentrations chromium, mercury, arsenic identified wastewater cause a hazard to health. There is wide variety nanoadsorbents nanophotocatalysts used heavy/hazardous research resulted production nanostructures that exhibit extraordinary adsorption effectiveness photocatalytic diminution ions. These have physically chemically tunable features. Summary In this review article, use carbon-based nanomaterials, polymer-based semiconductor-based extensively discussed remove ions from process. Advanced involved reduction also comprehensively discussed.
